What is a cold environment ?
Area’s of land permantly covered by ice.
Where are cold environments located ?
High area’s,Northern places and Southern places.
How does glacial budget affect erosion in glaciers ?
The greater amount of input makes the glacier move faster.
What is the process of plucking in erosion ?
Melt water under glaciers freeze around rocks and then plucked away leaving a rocky surface.
What is the process of abrasion in erosion ?
The weight of ice traps rocks underneath and whilst the glaciers moves,the rockes scrape on the floor.
What is the process of freeze thaw in erosion ?
Freeze thaw happens on the sides of glacier when rain water is collected in cracks and freezes making the cracks bigger and fall onto the glacier.
How is a corrie formed by erosion ?
A bunch of ice from a glacier is collected in a hollow which expands over time due to the weight of ice then the ice is melted making a lake in the side of a mountain.
How is a u - shaped valley formed ?
It is formed by a glacier eroding the sides of a mountain making a valley.
What is the difference between a u shaped and a v shaped valley ?
A u shaped valley if formed by glaciers and a v shaped valley if formed by rivers.
What is the affect of ice melting ?
Sea levels will rise meaning floods would devestate people’s lives,home,job and a countries economy.
