What are drumlins?
Elongated hills of glacial deposits.
Often occurring in groups
How big can drumlins be?
1km long and 500m wide.
What is a group of drumlins called?
A drumlin swarm or a basket of eggs.
Give an example of where drumlins are found.
Vale of Eden.
Drumlins are part of what?
The debris that was carried along then accumulated under the ancient glacier.
The long axis of a drumlin indicates what?
The direction in which the glacier was moving.
Why would the drumlin have been deposited?
Because the glacier would have became overloaded with sediment.
However, what is the disagreement?
Glaciologists still disagree as to exactly how drumlins were formed.
