-The spoil system is when the government gives out jobs as a reward when people do political services.

They were early American journalists who reported scandal and political wrongdoing.

A group of common workers who negotiate hours, wages, often in a trade or profession, formed to protect and further their rights and interests.

-a tax that each adult has to pay in order to vote in an election

-the transformation from an agricultural to an industrial nation when the use of machines replace the work of humans

Who was Boss Tweed and how was he connected to Tammany Hall?
Boss Tweed was the grand leader of Tammany. Boss Tweed and his group demanded bribes from contractors who did business with the city.
He had a lot of political power, he stole millions of dollars from the city of New York.
Who was Upton Sinclair and how was he responsible for improving conditions in meat packaging plants?
United States writer whose novels argued for social reform. Sinclair uncovered the working conditions in meat packing plants. He was a muckraker wrote the book “The Jungle”.

Gave the right to President Jackson to move Native Americans west of the Mississippi or if they stay where they are and go by the politicial rules.
