What things would you consider when assessing if a gift is appropriate to accept
A
- Value
- Timing
- Proportionate to working relationship
- Will it affect my ability to act impartially
- Is it proportionate to gifts being offered to others
- Who is it being given to (just one person or range of people from different organisations)
- Is it in line with RICS rules of conduct and relevant legislations

What is RLBs gift policy?
A
- All hospitality has to be recorded (acepted or refused)
- No authorisation for small gifts e.g. routine working meal
- Can accept more significant gifts if:
- Demonstrable business rationale
- If over £75, approved by partner
- Manager must determine if proportionate and appropriate within context of relationship
