- Scales can be at different hierarchies
- Nested areas are smaller areas within larger areas

- Usually has about 400 to 800 units
- Facilities are usually very near to serve the needs of the citizens

- A neighborhood has about 4000 to 6000 residents
- A few precincts make up a neighborhood
- a few neighborhoods make up a town

How does town planning happen in SIngapore?
A
1: Serves resident and provide for nature.
- Land in each town is mostly allocated for housing, industrials, and commercial developments
- Remaining land for other facilities
