Chronic Hep C and Pregnancy

During pregnancy, patients with chronic hepatitis C virus infection should be monitored closely. Antiviral therapy is not currently approved for the mother while pregnant or breastfeeding or for newborn infants. Patients should be followed up by a high-risk obstetrics team, and invasive
monitoring should be avoided to reduce risk
of transmission.
