What is a salivary gland stone?
A calcified structure that can form inside the salivary ducts or glands
It can bock the flow of saliva into the mouth.
What is esophageal varicies?
Pressure increase within the blood vessels of the distal esophagus

What is Mallory-Weiss syndrome?
Esophageal lining tears during severe vomiting
Can cause pneumothorax and sepsis
What is peptic ulcers disease?
High levels of acidity in the stomach and duodenum eroding the protective layer and acid breaking down the organs
What is pancreatitis?
Inflammation of the pancreas due to duct being blocked activating auto digestion too early in the pancreas instead of in the intestines
What is cholecystitis
Inflammation of the gallbladder
Gallstone is blocking cystic duct, when bile gets trapped it causes irritation and inflammation

What is appendicitis?
Inflamed appendix usually due to accumulation of stool, infection or mucus
May result in rupture, hinders ability to fight infection , sepsis, death

Infection of stomach or intestines

What is acute hepatitis? And what is a sign of it
Inflammation and destruction of the liver results in instability to detoxify the blood.
Jaundice is a sign due to high levels of bilirubin
What is diverticulitis?
Bulges in the colonial wall, stool and bacteria can become trapped and cause an infection
What is ulcerative colitis?
Generalized chronic inflammation of the colon, causes thinning of the intestinal walls
Weak and dilates colon becomes prone to bacteria and bleeding
What is crohns disease and where does it most likely affect?
Immune system attacks the GI tract
Most common inflammation site is the ileum
What are kidney stones/ renal colic?
The passing of a crystalline stone down the urinary tract
What are 3 symptoms of kidney stones?

What is total parenteral nutrition?
Feeing of nutritional products to a person via IV, bypassing usual process of eating and digestion
