Ciprofloxacin 750 mg OD x 1-3 days
Rifaximin 200 mg TDS x 3 days

Treatment of choice in campylobacter-related dysentery
Azithromycin 500 mg OD x 3 days
Ciprofloxacin 750 mg OD x 7 days
Treatment of choice in non-typhoidal salmonella dysentery
Ciprofloxacin 750 mg OD x 7-10 days
Ampicillin 250-500 mg QDS x 7 days
Azithromycin 500 mg OD x 7 days
Bactrim 960 mg BD x 7 days
Treatment of traveler’s diarrhea
Ciprofloxacin 750 mg OD x 1 day
Levofloxacin 500 mg OD x 3 days
Rifaximin 200 mg TDS x 3 days
Azithromycin 500 mg OD x 3 days
Treatment of choice in shingellosis
Similar to salmonella dysentery but treatment duration may be shorter with macrolides/quinolones
H. pylori standard therapy
14 days treatment:
- PPI BD
- Clarithromycin 500 mg BD
- Amoxicillin 1 g BD or Metronidazole 500 mg TDS
H. pylori quadruple therapy
10-14 days treatment:
- PPI BD
- Bismuth substrate 120-240 mg QDS
- Tetracycline 500 mg QDS or doxycycline 100 mg BD
- Metronidazole 500 mg TDS or QDS
