Do research on each school before the call and create a cheat sheet of basic information.
What was the school’s record last year? What conference do they compete in? How long as the head coach been there? Does the college have a School of Business with a Finance major?
Have your computer open during the call.
You can open up a few different tabs to help during the call … your list of questions for the coach and script of potential answers; the school’s or baseball team’s website; your season statistics.
Be yourself and simply have a conversation with the coach during the call.
The coach wants to get to know you as a person - so have a two-way conversation (don’t simply say “yes sir” “no sir” the entire time). And you want to get to know the coaching staff to. Just talk to them like you would one of your own coaches.
