Geometry Flashcards
a quadilaterial can be cut in half into two trraingles
ma
hexagon can be cut into two traingles
z throuhg the middle
height of equaliteral traingle is always one half the side time square 3
angles
ratio of sides of 30-60-90 traingle
is 1/2/square 3
ratio of sides of right traingle 45 45 90
is 1/1/ square 2
a straight line has a measurement of 180 degrees
Pperpeiendicular lines are lines that interesct at a 90 degree angle
the interior formed from interesciting lines form a circle
- 360 degees
Acute angles ( es than 90 degrees
obtuse angles greater than 90 degrees
Acute angles ( es than 90 degrees
obtuse angles greater than 90 degrees
three dimesnionsl
surface area= sum of all the faces
to find surface area of a cub you only need length of one side
first find the area of one face (5x5) then multiply by six to acount for all the faces 6 x 25=150
there are two types of right traingles
45-45-90 or 30-60-90
angles correspond to their opposite sides
meaning largest angle is opposite the longest sidee…
the sum of any two sides of a traingle must be greater than the third side
beware of the impossible traingle
common combinations of right traingle
3-4-5, 5-12-13, 8-15-17
Isoscles traingle (45-45-90)
x, x, x square root
Equaliaterial traingles all three sides and angle (60) are equal
30 degree angle = x (side) 60 degree angle = x square root 3 90 degree (hypotnuse)= 2x
traingles are defined as similar if all of their corresponding anlges are equal and their correspoinding sides are in porpotion
once you know that the traingles have two pairs of equal angles you know that traingles are similar
slope= rise/run
to find the rise subtract the y cordinatres
to find the run subtract the x cordinates
