Development
The improvement or growth of a country’s standard of living. Social and economic factors are used to measure a country’s level of development.
Developed
A developed country is one that is considered to have a high standard of living, such as: good housing. good education system. longer life expectancy.
Developing
A developing country is one that is considered to have a lower standard of living, such as: lack of medical care. limited access to education. more people working in agriculture.
Colony
A country or area under the full or partial political control of another country and occupied by settlers from that country.
Cash crop
Agricultural crops that are planted for the purpose of selling on the market or for export to make profit.
