RG -Positively transforming economy of place that has declined
RB- Changing reputation of an area
RI - Changing the image of an area for the better
Why do urban areas, rural areas and seasides need rebranding?
URBAN / CBD - Seen as unsafe, online shopping, travel to other shopping centers, cheaper places elsewhere
RURAL - Better jobs in urban area , lifestyle, backward, young people leave, house prices high (2nd house)
SEASIDE - Old image, people go abroad, seasonal areas, young people leave, low wages
Define flagship
Large-scale expensive projects designed to make radical change to a place image
Define stakeholders
Individuals, groups or organisations have interest in particular project
Top-down and Bottom-up
Top-up = decisions made by authorities/agencies like govt Bottom-up = listening to local opinion and conducted by locals
