Q

What are the stages of the cell cycle?

A

Initial growth stage where extra mitochondria, ribosomes and other sub cellular structures are produced and the chromosomes are copied so the cell had two sets. After that mitosis takes place and the two sets of chromosomes go to opposite sides of the cell, splitting the nucleus. After this, the cytoplasm and cell membranes are duplicated leaving us with two identical cells.
