What is genetic engineering?

when genetic information is transferred from one cell to another. Often involving transferring the information from one species to another.

A
the section of DNA containing the required gene is located on the chromosome.

the gene is cut out of the chromosome using special enzymes

a plasmid is cut out of a bacterial cell and cut open
