Focuses on Personality and on the role of Hidden, Unconscious processes on behaviour

Focuses on the possible role of inherited tendencies in various aspects of behaviour

A commitment to gathering information in as careful, precise and error-free manner as possible
Objectivity (Scientific Methods)
Obtaining information and evaluating it in a manner that is free from bias as much as humanly possible
Skepticism (Scientific Methods)
Accepting findings as accurate only after they have been verified over and over again, preferably by many different scientists working independently
Open-Mindedness (Scientific Methods)
Commitment to changing one’s world views even if strongly held in the face of evidence that shows them to be inaccurate
Confounding Variable
An unmeasured variable that has an effect on both the supposed cause and effect in an experimentational study
