A clearance to track to and operate within:
1) YMES: 5 NM of the ARP, SFC to 3000 ft
2) YWSL: 5NM of the ARP, SFC to 2,500 ft, remaining north of the Latrobe river and within 12 TAC ESL
Who should aircrew contact if requiring a different training area?
- PTS OPS
- ATC is not responsible for airspace allocation
What lateral distance must A/C maintain between adjacent areas?
1 NM
What lateral distance must A/C maintain between a lane when in use by transiting traffic?

What does an ATC call of “C/S AIRSPACE” mean?
That the aircraft is observed outside their cleared area.
What are the dimensions of transiting lanes?
- 12 to 50 NM from NBD
- SFC/base of restricted airspace to FL160
What are the inbound/outbound lanes bearings based off of?
ESL NBD
What QNH should pilots operate on?
- Local QNH unless operating above the transition level (10,000ft), when pilots should set AMSL on a standby altimeter to ensure that they don’t exceed FL150.
