What is the Organization Management Team (OMT)?
The group of FAA personnel responsible for oversight of the ODA Holder (GAC). Responsible for ODA Audits
Who are some of the OMT members?
Includes members of the Aircraft Certification office (ACO), Manufacturing Inspection (MIDO) and Flight Standards field offices (FSDO) and Aircraft Evaluation Division (AED) as needed to oversee the ODA Unit. Responsible for ODA audits.
What is Function Code 8010E?
TC ODA: May approve type design and substantiation data for new TCs, TC amendments and design changes including:
* Approving technical data such drawings or analysis reports
* For analytical data, ensuring the appropriate and validated analytical models or systems are used
* These require specific delegated authority:
o Issuing Type Inspection Authorizations (TIA) and Type Inspection Reports (TIR)
o Witnessing tests
o Reviewing test data to ensure the test followed the test plan
o Request test conformity
o Approving test article deviations
What is Function Code 8040E?
TC ODA: Approve operational or repair information including:
* Aircraft flight manuals (AFM) and associated manuals such as cargo loading manuals, weight and balance manuals etc.
* AFM supplements
* Structural Repair Manuals (SRM)
What is Function Code 8130E?
TC ODA: Approve data for manor alterations or major repairs for airplanes as specified in ODA manual (Gulfstream and G-Little only).
What is Function Code 12130E?
MRA ODA: Approve technical data of for major repairs and alterations including (only for models listed in ODA-CSOP-102):
* Approving technical data such as test plans, test data or analysis
* Witnessing tests or performing compliance inspections
* Reviewing test data to ensure the test followed the test plan
* For analytical data, ensuring the appropriate and validated models or systems are used

- Interpretations of airworthiness standards
- Changes to areas of product affected by an AD
- Compliance findings involving acoustics or exhaust emissions
- ELOS provision
- Original and any changes to Master Minimum Equipment List (MMEL)
- Elimination or changes to life limits on life-limited components (Chapter 5-10-10 Airworthiness Limitations Section)
- Changes to AED Flight Standardization Board (FSB) report
- Changes to AED materials Review Board (MRB) report
- When retained by AED, acceptance of ICA’s.
What is an FAA policy memo?
An internal document from AIR management to users of directives (e.g., orders and notices). It provides clarification or guidance for directives and tells ARs what the FAA is thinking.
What is the difference between an FAA Test and a Company Test?
FAA test requires approved test plan, witnesses and conformity.

How does the ODA interface with the FAA?

When would a repair not fall within TC MRA?
- Repair requires AFMS
- Repair includes changes to lithium batteries or battery systems
- Repair includes new additive manufacturing part
- Any change to wiring EWIS components with CFR Part 25 subpart H
- When AR deems it necessary (when project gets larger / more complex typically needing multiple ARs)
