What does the FAAD duty time report give us?
• It gives us our duty day updated several times each day as things change.

What is a typical duty day?
14 Hours
Why does the Captain call CS if a crewmember is 5 minutes late?
- Safety first
- Maintaining the schedule
- Can initiate reassignment
What are our duty show times? (5 conditions)
- Domestic is usually one hour prior to launch
- IOE is 1 ½ hours prior
- Aircraft out of maintenance is 1 ½ to 2 hours
- Cold weather operations is 1 ½ to 2 hours
- VVIP / Red trips
What is required if the passenger count changes?
- If you add passengers then a new brief is required
- SOC runs pax through TSA no fly list
- Crew updates the passenger count in FOS
What is or is not required if removing passengers?
• A new brief is not required.
What are the 4 requirements for fueling?
- At least one crewmember must be present
- A 50 lb Class B fire extinguisher must be immediately available
- Do not go BATTS=ON or start the APU during fueling
- The cabin door must be open with passengers on board.
What are the 3 requirements for hot refueling?
- Engine on the refueling side is shut down
- Co pilot deplanes the passengers
- Captain stays at the controls
Who runs the no fly list?
• SOC runs the no-fly list
• XOJET notifies the passengers in advance to bring ID’s
• Captain verifies government issued ID’s of anyone who appears at least 18 years
of age
NOTE: a child under 2 years old may sit in the parents lap or in a customer provided
child restraint which must be facing forward.
What 9 items must be covered in our passenger brief?
- No smoking
- Seat belts
- Seat backs
- Electronic devices
- Exit doors
- Oxygen masks
- Life jackets
- Life rafts
- Fire extinguisher
What are our rules on dogs?
- There is a list of breeds that must be pre-approved
* They must be kenneled or muzzled
What are our rules on carry-on bags?
- Must have a positive bag match to the customer
- Bags must be restrained
- Bags cannot obstruct the exits
What is our policy on weapons?
- Weapons must be declared to the Captain
- They must be unloaded and inaccessible
- Ammo must be separated from the weapon
- If a trigger lock is used the Captain must hold the key
What are our rules on alcohol?
- No alcohol unless we serve it
- No intoxicated passengers will be boarded or served
- No illegal drugs
- Captains report if issues occur
- Crew members must comply with XOJET policies
How do we secure the aircraft?
• Hangar – doors locked and wheels triple chocked
• Outside – doors locked, triple chocked, brake OFF
• Canadair has gust lock installed
• Engine covers ON
• Security stickers affixed if it is a non secure airport. Enter
the sticker number in FOS Mobil under “NOTES”
When is our flight medical due?
- By the 25th of the due month.
* Sent pic to training
What are the rules on pilot certificates?
- Temporary cert is good for 60 days ???
- New type cert is good for 120 days
- Email training immediately
- NOTE: some types (typically first jet) have Supervised Operating Restriction. (SOE)
What are the change of address rules?
- Must change with the FAA within 30 days.
- Change address in ADP
- Notify HR, training, FAA
- New pilot certificate needs to match for the TSA on the BOE
What do we do with a Letter of Investigation?
- Contact the Chief Pilot within 3 days
* The LOI starts the 24 hour ASAP window
What are our flight time limits?
- 500 hours in one quarter
- 800 hours in two consecutive quarters
- 1400 hours in a calendar year
What are our mandatory crew qualifications?
- Annual CRM training
- Biennial emergency drills
- Company check and competency 293 ride
- IPC 297
- Line check 299
- Special routes
- Landing currency
What are the restrictions for FO’s with under 100PIC in type?
- No low takeoff minimums
- No landings with visibility below 5000 RVRor 1 mile
- No landings with braking action less than GOOD
- No more than 15 knots crosswind
- No windshear
- No Special Airports
- Captains discretion
