Q

What is Binomial Distribution, formula, and notation?

A

A discrete random variable of X is said to follow the B.D with parameters ‘n’ & ‘p’ if it p.d.f is given as follows…. (Formula)

- N - Number of repetitions/trials
- P - Probability of success
- Q - Probability of failure ~

E(X) - np
Var(X) - npq

Q

What are the conditions for Binomial Distribution?

A
  1. The random variable under study should be discrete.
  2. The number of trials/repetitions should be small. (n<20/n<30)
    1. The probability of success remains constant from trial to trial. Vis-versa
    2. The trials are independent of each other.
    3. Each trial results in one of 2 outcomes, that is either a success or a failure. (B.T)
