Causes of Primary vasculitis

A
  1. cell-mediated response (T-cells, macrophages, cytokines) to vascular antigens (i.e. elastic lamina) when dendritic cells go haywire
  2. immune-complex deposition–> inflammation mediated by complement, neutrophils, lysosomal enzymes, free radicals
  3. antibody-mediated attack
