Q

OPERATING principals

A
  • knowledge is power: knowing about how the voice works is key
  • voice production happens before the voice is heard: muscle effort makes it happen
  • the breath must be allowed to respond to what it meets on the way out
  • voice training is optimised when separated into 3 disciplines: craft, artistry and performance magic

Q

what is subglottic pressure

A

air that builds up under the folds
determined by body cover
(if the folds are open there is no build-up of subglottic pressure for example in aspirate where they hardly come together)
i.e. there would be a lot in thick with glottal onset
