Briefly outline the method for gel electrophoresis

A

1) Attach electrodes to ends of gel plate
2) Cut DNA sample into fragments
3) Place fragments in wells, closest to negative electrode
4) Apply current
5) Visualise bands using UV light and a fluorescent DNA dye
