What are the options for imaging the small bowel?
A
Small bowel is 6-7m!
Enteroscopy can visulise 80-100cm past duodenum.
Video (wireless) capsule- can be swallowed to see full length. Useful in obscure GI bleeds, crohns or tumours.

What’s the imaging of choice for the acute abdomen?
A
Plain X-ray (AXR and erect CXR)
- free gas (perf)
- dilated loops (obstruction)
- calcification of pancreas (in chronic pancreatitis)
- faecal loading (constipation)
