What is the role of diffusion in gas exchange
A
Need to get rid of waste products (oxygen and CO2)
Diffused out through stomata
Needed to take in CO2 for photosynthesis
O2 come out

How is the structure of a leaf adapted for Gas Exchange?
A
Broad, Large surface area for diffusion
thin for short diffusion distances
Air spaces in the leaf to allow gases to move easily between cells
Stomata open and close due to light intensity this prevents the plant from drying out
They also close when the water supply from the roots dry up
