Q

What is cholangitis?

A

Common bile duct obstruction due to gallstone with an infection

17
Q

What is the treatment for cholangitis?

A

ERCP + abx (e.g IV piperacillin/tazobactam)

18
Q

What are the symptoms of cholangitis?

A
  • Charcot’s triad = fever + jaundice + RUQ pain

- Reynold’s pentad = Charcot’s triad + shock + altered mental status
