What is the definition of ectoparasites
Live on or in the skin of the host, feed on blood and keratin from host, go through either the entire life cycle or part of it in the host
Patient that walked on soil, fertilized female flea brurowed under the skin. You see an inflammatory nodule with central crater. When scratched, helps expel eggs.

surgical excision, petroleum jelly, ivermectin

scabies:
S. Scabies var hominis
pregnant female burrows under the skin and lays her eggs (15-21 days to mature)
First infection will take 4 weeks incubation period; subsequent infection, will take a few days
tx:ivermectin or permetrhin cream
A single round patch of alopecia with scaling on a child.
Tinea Capitis: treat with PO Grisoefulvin or Terbinafine
Patient with animals at home.

annular lesion on the groin, associated with tinea pedis
Tinea Cruris (if HIV, no inflammatory reaction necessarily)
Two types of this:
TInea Pedis:
Dishydrotic/inflammatory type: itchy on the sole
Dry/Moccasin type: Scaly, chronic, on the soles
Treatment of oncyhcomycosis
Special lacquers if few nails affects; or PO terbinafine
Pityriasis Versicolor: can treat with topical cream or PO griseofulvin/terbinafine
