Q

What is chemical change with an example

A

when a substance is converted into an entirely new substance, where molecules reform into a new substance e.g. combustion of methane to carbon dioxide

Q

What is physical change with an example

A

substance does not change into another but merely changes it’s physical state of matter e.g ice to water to steam from boiling water

Q

What are mixtures with an example

A

substances that can be separated with physical changes such as evaporation of sea water that gives off pure substance of water vapour and solids such as sodium chloride, no definite properties as they depend on certain concentrations such as water with more salt having a lower freezing point
