A

Call for the fuselage fire/Smoke and/or Smoke warning on recalls.

After the captain has called for the recalls, what’s the first thing the MC or EO should do?

A

The crew member closest to the left hand console is to apply auxiliary power by pushing the ‘SATPHONE’ switch

After the SATPHONE switch is on, what should the mission Coordinator do?

A

Provide range and bearing to the nearest land, reef or vessel. MC then may remove headset, move forward, turn off the cabin, PSU and sidewall lights and assess the following areas for smoke,
Galley (200)
MCU
wardrobe
toilet
behind pilots seats
Once compete the MC reports any smoke or fire observed directly to the captain then closes the cockpit door.
The MC then returns to his console, establishes communication and makes a MAYDAY call if required.
