- short clinical crowns
- high displacement forces are anticipated
- surveyed crown
- malocclusion
- FDP
- Endodontically treated tooth

Contraindication for Full metal crown
A
- Active caries or periodontal disease
- Young patients, pulp exposure. Not critical as the PFM
- When a more conservative restoration is a reliable option
- when esthetics is an issue

A
- Strongest restoration - not only helps keeping tooth’s integrity but it doesn’t suffer from porcelain chipping
- Most conservative full coverage restoration
- permits correction of axial form (RDP)

- increased removal of dental structure (compared to inlays/onlays)
- not an esthetic restoration
- Electric vitality tests can no longer be performed
