What does it mean to declare “minimum fuel”?
A
This lets ATC know that any change to your current clearance will result in landing with less than 45 minutes of fuel (or reserve fuel if an alternate is required). Also referred to as Bingo Fuel, Bugout Fuel, or Min Fuel.

What does it mean to declare “emergency fuel”?
A
This should be declared when projected fuel consumption will result in landing with less than 30 minutes of fuel remaining.

Diversion Checklist
A
- Notify Dispatcher
- Verify Wx at the alternate
- Verify that the actual fuel you have on board matches the alternate fuel listed on your release.
- Use the FMS to verify that your fuel burn to the alternate is appropriate.
- Reread NOTAMs for the alternate airport.
- Reprogram the FMS and the ACARS initialization page with the alternate airport.
- Get landing performance data for your alternate airport via Aerodata.
- Review enroute/approach charts.
- Review alternate airport 10-7, or CCI page
- Notify station ops at the alternate airport.
- Notify the FA’s and make a PA
- Pen and Ink the dispatch release to show a new destination airport.
