Fuel Handling Flashcards
Fuel Handling Should Be Stopped When:
Count Rate increase by a factor of 2 on ALL SRMs during any single loading step after 8 fuel assemblies are loaded
Count Rate increase by a factor of 5 on ANY SRM during any single loading step after 8 fuel assemblies are loaded
Water in SFP and core not clear enough to view Fuel top nozzles with supplemental lighting
During core loading, the lower core plate and guide pins are not visible with supplemental lighting
Boron concentration decreases by more than 20 ppm, on 2 successive coolant samples, until decrease is explained
Reactor cavity leakage
Features that Prevent Inadvertent Unlatching of a Fuel Assembley
Gripper requires air to disengage (Loss of air will engage assembly)
