Fuel Flashcards
Main tank fuel LOW PRESSURE Amber light
fuel pump output pressure low, or
pump switch is OFF
2 low pres lights illuminate master caution and fuel annunciator lights
1 low pres light illuminates master caution and fuel annunciator on recall
Fuel crossfeed VALVE OPEN Blue light
bright: valve in transit, or valve position and crossfeed selector disagree
dim: valve is open
extinguished: valve is closed
ENGINE VALVE CLOSED and SPAR VALVE CLOSED Blue lights
bright: valves in transit, or valve position and engine start lever or engine fire warning switch in disagreement
dim: valves closed
extinguished: valves open
Fuel FILTER BYPASS Amber light
impending fuel filter bypass due to contaminated filter
Fuel quantity LOW Amber alert
“LOW” displayed under fuel quantity with less than 2000 lbs in related main tank
Fuel quantity CONFIG Amber alert
with either engine running, and
center tank over 1600 lbs, and
both center fuel tank pumps produce low or no pressure
Fuel quantity IMBAL Amber alert
displays when main tanks differ by more than 1000 lbs
displays on the ground or in the air
inhibited by low fuel indication
displays until imbalance is reduced to 200 lbs
2 ways to close spar and engine fuel shutoff valves
engine start lever to cutoff
pull engine fire warning switch
How is fuel supplied to engines
center tank pumps produce higher pressure than main tank pumps
is main tank pump pressure is low, associated engine can draw fuel through suction feed bypassing the pumps
