Flight Controls Flashcards
Primary Flight controls power source
System A
System B
Standby Hydraulic system
Alternate Flaps Master Switch
OFF and ARM
OFF - normal guarded position
ARM - Closes TE flap bypass valve
activates standby pump
arms alternate flaps position switch
STAB TRIM OVERRIDE Switch
OVERRIDE
NORM
OVERRIDE - bypasses control column actuated stab cutout switches to restore power to stab trim switches on the control wheel
NORM - normal guarded position
STAB TRIM CUTOUT Switches
Main electric NORMAL and CUTOFF
Autopilot NORMAL and CUTOFF
NORMAL - normal operating position
CUTOFF - deactivates control wheel trim switch operation
NORMAL - normal operating position
CUTOFF - deactivates autopilot stab trim operation. autopilot disengages if engaged
Flap load relief system 40 and 30
When flaps set to 40, flaps retract to 30 if flaps 40 airspeed is exceeded. extends to flaps 40 when airspeed is reduced
When flaps set to 30, flaps retract to 25 if flaps 30 airspeed is exceeded. extends to flaps 30 when airspeed is reduced
YAW DAMPER Amber light
yaw damper not engaged
SPEED BRAKE DO NOT ARM Amber light
- abnormal condition exists in system
- test input in system
- illuminates when wheel speed is below 60 kts and speed brake lever is not down
- light deactivates when speed brake lever is DOWN
FLT CONTROL switches
STBY RUD
OFF
ON
STBY RUD - activates standby hyd pump,
opens standby rudder shutoff valve to pressurize standby rudder power control unit
OFF - closes flight control shutoff valve
isolating ailerons, elevators, and rudder from associated hydraulic system
ON - guarded position, normal operating position
Control column Stabilizer cutout switches
control column movement opposing trim direction stops operation of main electric and autopilot trim
FEEL DIFF PRESS Amber light
excessive differential pressure in elevator feel computer
SPEED TRIM FAIL Amber light
failure of speed trim system
failure of single FCC channel. light extinguishes when master caution system is reset
MACH TRIM FAIL Amber light
failure of mach trim system
failure of single FCC channel. light extinguishes when master caution system is reset
AUTO SLAT FAIL Amber light
failure of auto slat system
failure of single stall management/yaw damper (SMYD)
