R: Yes, but only with dessert.
C: Hos is the food, gentlemen?
R: Excellent. My steak is very tender, and the salad is really fresh.
A: Yes, the lobster has a delicious flavor, and so do the vegetables.

Carlos: I want to make a reservation for a flight to Lisbon. I plan to travel through Portugal for fifteen days.
E: You got here just in time. Flight 400 for Lisbon leaves in fifty minutes, at three o’clock sharp.
C: Terrific! It’s a short trip, isn’t it?
E: Yes, a one-hour flight, more or less. Do you want a round-trip ticket?
C: No, one-way. Can you give me a seat by the window?
E: In the smoking section?
C: No, please. I don’t smoke.
E: In that case, I can give you window seat. Di you have your passport?

Sra. G: Pues no, pero no es época de turismo ahora.
R: Tiene usted razón, señora. Tenemos un cuarto disponible en el tercer psio. Tiene una ventana que da a la plaza central.
Sr. G: ¿Cuanto cobran ustedes por día?
R: Ciento ochenta pesos, sin incluir la comida. La recámara también tiene televisor.
Sra. G: ¡Qué bueno!… porque yo no puedo perderme la telenovela de las nueve.
R:Sr.G: No es tan barato como una pensión, pero me parece razonable.
Sra. G: ¿Tiene agua caliente el baño?
R: Por supuesto. Y toallas… y jabón?
Sr. G: ¿ qué hora abran el comedor por la mañana?
R: El desayuno se sirve desde las ocho hasta las once. Por la moche cerramos el comedor a las once y el bar a las dos de la mañana.

R: ¿Quiere firmar el registro, por favor? Aquí tienen la llave. El botones sube el equipaje enseguida.

At a hotel in Mexico:
Recepcionista: Good afternoon. How can i help you?
Mr. Gonzales: We want a room with double bed for three days.
R: Do you have a reservation?
Mrs. G: Well, no, but this isn’t the tourist season.
R: You are right madam. We have a room available on the third floor. it has a window facing the central square.
Mr. G: How much do you charge a day?
R: One hundred eighty pesos, without meals. There isa TV set in the room, too.
Mrs: Gonzales: Terrific!… because I cannot miss my soap opera at nine in the evening.
Mr. G: It’s not as cheap as boardinghouse, but the price seems reasonable.
Mrs. G: Does the bathroom have hot water?
R: Of course. And towels… and soap.
Mr. G: At what time does the dining room open in the morning?
R: Breakfast is served from eight to eleven. We close the dining room at eleven in the evening and the bar at two in the morning.
Mr. G: OK. We’ll take the room for three days.

Mimi: No vengo mucho al supermercado. Atienden mejor en los mercados pequeños, donde conoces a los empleados y oyes los últimos chismes de barrio.
Rita: Pues yo vengo aquí a menudo. Creo que los precios son más bajos y hay más variedad de productos.
Mimi: Tienes razón. Y no hay que andar de mercado en mercado. ¡Mira estas chuletas de cerdo a 3.50 el kilo! Un precio bien razonable.
Rita: La verdad. No tienen ninguna grasa. Voy a llevarme este paquete de cuarto kilos y medio.
Mimi: Esta carne de res tiene buena pinta, con sólo siete por ciento de grasa. Me llevo seis kilos de carne de hamburgesa y dos kilos de solomillo.
Rita: Nosotros comemos bastante cordero asado en casa, Voy a cocinar esta pierna el domingo porque somos muchos.
Mimi: Tengo que ir a la sección de verduras. Necesito zanahorias, frijoles verdes, lechuga, cebolla y ajo.
Rita: Vas a ver que aquí hay vegetales bien frescos: pepinos, guisantes, maíz, de todo, especialmente la fruta.
Mimi: Yo no puedo ver los vegetales en lata. No saben nada.
Rita: A mí las latas también me ponen enferma , con la excepción del atún.
Mimi: Yo compro mucha fruta siempre. Mis niños la prefieren al pastel.

Rita: Well, i come here often. I think the prices are lower an dthere is a greater variety of products.
Mimi: You are right. And you don’t have to go from store to store. Look at these pork chops at 3.50 a kilo! Very reasonable price.
Rite: It’s true. They don’t have any fat. I’m going to take this four-and-a-half kilo package.
