Q
What type of receptors do we have?
A
- ligand-gated ion channel receptors
- nuclear/intracellular receptor
- GPCR
- Silent receptor
- orphan receptors
- enzyme receptors
2
Q
What does cAMP do when made by adenylyl cyclase?
A
it activates PKA, PKA can then activate CREB which results in gene transcription
3
Q
What happens in Gq?
A
PIP2 is cleaved into DAG and IP3 by PLC. Both of these subunits can open the calcium channels. The influx of calcium channels can activate PKC which results n contraction of the smooth muscle cells.
4
Q
How is GPCR desensitised?
A
After activation of cAMP, arrestin is also activated and binds to GPCR.
