From Molecules To Organism part 2 Flashcards
Molecule
A tiny group of building blocks that are stuck together.
Organism
Any living thing like a plant, animal or even a tiny bacteria.
Stimuli
A signal or change In your environment that make you react.
Environment
The environment includes everything living and nonliving in an area. For example the environment of a giraffe has grass, water, trees other animal and non-living thing like rocks and soil.

Processing
The process by which animal receive information from their environment, process it and respond to it.(perception/memories),(behavior(actions.)
Behavioral Adaptation

Support vocabulary
Ectotherms meaning they cannot generate their own body heat but instead must move to a warm/sunny spot to absorb heat from the reptiles (lizards, turtles, snakes)environment in order to have energy to digest food, etc.
Endotthems meaning they can generate their own body heat and do not to warm up in order to digest food, etc. They may be active in colder temperatures than reptiles. Mammals (humans, rabbits, dolphins/whales,bear, etc.
