Friends Ep.3 Flashcards

Q

P: Hi Guys.

All: Hey Phoebe.

R: Hey, Oh, How did it go?

P: Uhm not so good. He said “We should do this again”

Rc: What? “We should do it again”. That’s good right?

M: No, loosely translated “We should do this again” means “You will never see me naked”.

Rc: Since when?

J: Since always. It’s like dating language. You know, like, “It’s not you” means “It’s you”.

C: Or “You’re such a nice guy” means: “I’ll be dating leather-wearing alcoholics and complaining them to you”

P: Or “I think we should see other people” means “ha ha I already am”.

Rc: And everybody knows this.

J: Oh, yeah…Cushions the blow.

C: Like when you’re a kid and your dog dies and they say it went off to some farm.

R: That’s funny. No, because our parents actually did send our dog up to live on a farm.

M: Uh… Ross?

R: What, Hello? The Milners’ Farm in Connecticut? The Milners had this unbelievable farm, they had horses and rabbits to chase and… Oh My God, Chi Chi!

A

P: Oi pessoal!

Todos: Oi Phoebe!

R: E aí? Como foi?

P: Uhm não muito bem. Ele disse “Vamos repetir isso”

Rc: O quê? “Vamos repetir isso” não é bom?

M: Não, “Vamos repetir isso” na verdade significa “Você jamais me verá pelado”.

Rc: Desde quando?

J: Desde sempre. É a linguagem do namoro.

Oh Meu Deus, Chi Chi!

Q

C: So how does it feel knowing you’re about to die?

J: Warden, in five minutes my pain will be over. But you will have to live with the knowledge that you sent an honest man to die.

C: Hey, that was really good.

J: Yeah? Thanks, Let’s keep going

C: So, what do you want from me, Dimone huh?

J: I just want to go back to my cell, because in my cell I can smoke.

C: Smoke away.
I think this is probably why Dimone smokes in his cell, alone.

J: What?

C: Relax your hand, let your wrist go, not so much. All right, now, try taking a puff. Right. Okay, No, Give it to me.

J: No, no. I’m not giving you a cigarette.

C: Do you want to get this part or not? Here. All right, now, don’t think of it as a cigarette, think of it as the thing that has been missing from your hand.
When you’re holding it, you feel right, you feel complete.

J: Do you miss it?

C: No, not so much. All right, now we smoke. Oh my God!

A

Oh Meu Deus!

Q

M: They say it’s the same as the distance, from the tip of a guy’s thumb to the tip of his index finger.

J: That’s ridiculous.

R: Can I use either thumb?

Rc: All right, don’t tell me, don’t tell me. Decaf cappucino for Joey. Coffee Black. Latte. And an ice tea. I’m gettiing good at this.

R: Excellent.

C: Very good.

Rc: Good for me.

J: You okay, Phoebe?

P: Yeah, no, I’m… It’s not evem worth it… It’s my bank.

M: What did they do?

P: It’s just…okay. I’m going through my mail, and I open up their monthly statement. And there’s $500 extra in my account.

C: Oh, satan’s minions at work again.

P: Now I have to go there and deal with them…

J: What? Keep it.

P: It’s not mine. I didn’t earn it. It would be like stealing.

Rc: Yeah, but if you spent it, it would be like shopping.

P: Okay, okay. Let’s say I bought a really great pair of shoes, do you know what I’d hear with every step I took? Not mine, not mine… Even if I was happy, and skipping, I’d hear not mine, not mine…

M: We’re with you, we got it.

P: I’d never enjoy it. It would be like this giant karmic debt.

M: Chandler, what are you doing? Hey, what are you doing?

All: What is this?

C: I’m smoking, I’m smoking.

P: You’ve been so good for three years.

C: And this is my reward.

R: Think about what you went through the last time you quit.

C: Okay, so this time I won’t quit.

All: Put it out.

C: I’m putting it out.

P: Oh, no! I can’t drink this now.

M: I’m going to go change, I’ve got a date.
