Who was Louis XVI, WHAT was HIS role in the French Revolution
He was the king of France from 1774 until his deposition. The first part of his reign was markedly attempts to reform France in accordance with enlightenment ideas. He implemented deregulation of grain market which resulted in an increase in bread prices which cahsed the masses to revolt against him.
Maxime lion Robespierre
A politician and lawyer BEST KNOW as a figure an advocate for the french revolting, THE defense of the republic, and the reign of terror. He was part of the estates general and he was an outspoken advocate of the poor and democratic institutions
Bonaparte
Political leader who rose to power during the French Revolution and he held a coup D’états when he finally crowned himself emperor.
Klemens von Metternich
A politician who engeneered Austrians entry into the war of the sixth coalition in the allied side and sidgned the treaty that sent napoleon into exile and finally he led the Austrian delegation at the congress of Vienna that divided POST-napoleonic Europe amongst the major powers.
The three estates
Broad orders of social hierarchy used in Christendom. It was made up of the clergy (first estate), nobility (second estate), and the commoners (third estate)
The first estate or the clergy
THERE WERE clericical nobility and then the lower clergy which consisted of priests monks and nuns
Second estate-
French nobility and royalty. This was the magisterial class that administered royal justice and civil government.
Third estate:
Urban and rural commoners all together making up 98% of frances population. Underpayed and over taxed and held up all manual labor

A member of the democratic club in Paris they were the most ruthless of the political groups formed I. He wake IF THE French Revolution and in addiciatkkn with Robespierre they Instituted a terror
Congress of Vienna
Conviened by the four European powers which has defeated napoleon. They wanted to create peace between the powers and not punish or go back to ways of chaos
Storming of the Bastille
French Revolution started when commoners took down the Bastille, the political prison which represented royal authority and the abuses of the monarchy. It’s fall WAS the flashpoint of the French Revolution.
Tennis court oath
The members of the Third estate who called themselves the National Assembly, took the oath that said “not to seperate, and to reassemble wherever circumstances require until the constitution of the kingdom is established”
Royal family flee from Paris
King and queen attempted to flee from Paris in order to imitate a counter Revolution but they were arrested and this marked the attempted flight which provoked charges of treason of the king and ultimately led to his execution.
Legitimacy
THE right AND acceptance of an authority, usually a government or law regime
Estates general
It was the first meeting since 1614, a general assembly representing the French estates of the realm. It sparked questions as to how they should be able to vote and finally the National Assembly came together which sparked the French Revolution
