What factors enabled Britain to afford to fund Coalition Warfare to such great extent
Industrial Revolution enable economic development- allowed Britian to afford payment. 50 years built up wealth.
The Flanders Campaign 1792-95
Strengths/weaknesses:
- Weak supply lines- French strong supply
- Unprepared- French prepared
- Inefficient in battle
Reason for battle- Flanders occupied by France trade links. Want to keep France out of Belgium.
Outcome- French success, British heavy defeat, Arthur Wellesley learnt a lot from battle
Battle of Seringapatam/Asseye 1799/1799
Wellesley in charge first real victory for British army. Reason to conquer India.
