Incomplete in convex side of bone

Incomplete, two sections of bone do not separate. Common in skull
Comminuted fracture
Complete fracture in more than two pieces
Impacted fracture
One fragment is driven into the spongy portion of another fragment
Linear fracture
Run parallel to the long axis of the bone
Transverse fracture
Across or right angles to long axis
Spiral fracture
Helical course around bone
Oblique fracture
Run obliquely in relation to the long axis. Across and up a little
Dentate fractures
Rough toothed broken ends
Stellate fracture
Breakage lines radiating from a central point
