Fracture (get xray), Quad/patellar tendon rupture (check extension)
What are your top dx for ATRAUMATIC knee swelling?
- Spetic Knee
- Gout/crystal arthritis
- OA
What are your top dx for TRAUMATIC knee injuries?
- Fracture
- Meniscal injury
- ACL/PCL
- Patellar dislocation
- Quad/patellar tendon rupture
- OCD
What do we give pts in an active gout flare?
NSAID liek naproxen or indomethacin as well as colchicine or corticosteroids
What do we give as gout ppx?
allopurinol
72 yo female w/shoulder pain.
X ray shows marked joint space narrowing and changes consistent w/ OA.
First line tx: PT
Additional therapy: consider acetominophen or nsaids in pts w/out heart disease or kidney injury
Highly suspected scaphoid fracture w/negative imaging, we would ______________
cast immobilize and repeat xrays in 2-3 weeks
