Neurovascular exam for fx
A
- Motor
- Sensory
- Pulses
- Cap refill

X-rays: rule of twos
A
- Two views: at least AP and lateral
- Two limbs: kids- X-ray contralateral bone for comparison
- Two joints: joint above and below fx
- Two injuries: severe trauma look for more than one
- Two occasions: some require follow-up X-ray

Transverse fx
A
Fragments remain in place after reduction

A
Tend to shorten and re-displace even if bone is splinted
