Q

How do you divide fractions

A

When dividing by fractions we use the KCF rule
Keep the first fraction the same
Change the ÷ to a ×
Then flip the second fraction (so the numerator is now the denominator)
Now we can multiply as normal

Q

How do you add and subtract fractions

A

When adding and subtracting fractions we need to ensure the denominators are equal

Once they are equal (by multiplying the whole fraction) we can add or subtract.

E.g

4/5 + 3/8

(4×8)+(3×5)/40
32+15/40
=47/40
