what is the process of steam bending

A

long thin stips of wood are steamed in a steam box for atleast an hour - this makes them fairly flexible
the timber can be bent around a pre-made former to create a curve

A

manufacturing something by bonding layers of materials together
however when a / more veneers are glued together, they become stff and much stronger - this principal used in the manufacture of stake board decks

what is the process of laminating aeroply / flexiply around a former

A

layers of aeroply / flexiply are put onto a former into a vacuum bag
when their air is removed from the baf it creates the pressure needed to hold the ply layers in place until glue has set
