Forensic field scientists Flashcards
Computer forensics
investigate home computers and office workstations, CDs, and laptops. They look at data storage and processing equipment to
determine if it has been used for illegal or unusual activity.
Forensic botanist
use their knowledge to investigate evidence such as plants, seeds and soil to place a suspect at the scene of a crime.
Forensic engineering
this is generally carried out for civil cases. They look at materials and structures that do not operate properly, for example train derailments or aircraft accidents.
Forensic entomology
study the life cycles of insects such as flies, which feed on corpses to determine approximate time of death. They can also determine if a body has been moved to a different location, based on the
insects found at a scene.
