forearm patterns Flashcards
What is the motor innervation for all muscles in posterior (post axial, dorsal) the upper arm and fore arm?
radial nerve
motor innervation does not extend into the hand
What is the cutaneous innervation for dorsal hand?
Radial nerve
What innervates all the muscles in the anterior upper arm?
Musclocutaneous nerve
What innervates all the muscles in the anterior forearm?
median nerve
exceptions: (flexor carpi ulnaris, medial half of the flexor digitorum profundus ulnar N.)
(brachioradialis radial N )
What is the nerve that innervate all the muscles in the hand?
ulnar nerve
What is the exception to the ulnar nerve in the hand?
Innervation by the median nerve three thenar muscles of the thumb abductor pollicis brevis flexor pollicis brevis opponens pollicis lumbrical MM to 2 and 3 digit
What is the origin of all superficial flexors of the forearm?
medial epicondyle
What is the origin of all superficial extensors?
lateral epicondyle
Where does the deep extensor and flexor MM arise?
combination of radius, ulna and interosseous membrane
What is the axis of rotation for the forearm?
head of radius -> interosseous membrane -> head of ulna
at the elbow the head of radius rotates on its axis
at the wrist the radius rotate around the ulna
Where does the Muscles digits (flexor or extensor digitorum) run?
up midline
Where does the muscles that move wrist (flexor or extensor) run?
towards the sides of the forearm
What is brachiradialis?
follows all superficial extensor patterns but is a flexor
