Forearm Muscles Flashcards
Brachialis Muscle
ORIGIN: Distal half of the Humerus ( Anterior surface )
INSERTION: Tuberosity and Coronoid process of Ulna
ACTION: Flexion of the elbow
Brachioradialis Muscle
ORIGIN: Superior 2/3 of lateral supracondylar ridge of the Humeurs
INSERTION: Styloid Process of Radius
ACTION: Flexion of the elbow (HU Joint) + assists in pronation and supination of the Forearm ( Resistance )
Extensor Group
4 Extensors they are all situated between Brachioradialis and the Ulna along the lateral posterior side of the Forearm.
The Extensor Digiti Minimi is sometimes classified as a separate muscle, but it is just thr most medial portion of the Extensor Digitorum with a tendon attaching to the 5th Finger
Extensor Carpi Ulnaris Muscle
ORIGIN: Extensor Tendon of the lateral Epicondyle of the Humerus
INSERTION: Base of 5th Metacarpal
ACTION: Extension + Adduction of the wrist ( Ulnar deviation )
Extensor Digitorum
ORIGIN: Extensor Tendon of the lateral Epicondyle of the Humerus
INSERTION: Base of middle and distal phalanges through 2nd - 5th Fingers
Extensor Capri Radials Longus and Brevis Muscles
OIRING:
L. - Distal 1/3 of the lateral supracondylar ridge of Humerus
