Q

Contact Forces

What is an applied force?

A

An applied forces is a a force that is applied directly to a body.
The two bodies must be in contact.

eg. lifting a weight/pushing a chair.

Q

Contact Forces

What is a normal reaction force?

A

Normal reaction(NR) is a perpendicular force acting upwards from the surface supporting the weight of the object.

It is always act at ninety degrees from a surface.

Replusive & Attractive Forces

What are electrostatic forces?

A

A force that exists between electric charges.

Can be replusive or attractive

18
Q

Repulsive & Attractive Forces

What are magnetic forces?

A

The forces that exist between magnets or magnets and magnetic materials.
