How do you block with a baton?
Hold it like mid strike and rotate above head or wherever as necessary.
How do you get someone to put their hand behind their back with a baton?
Baton under their armpit
Twist it round and press knee up

What are the stances?
Proper stance (thinking, weak leg forward)
Defensive stance (arms out)
What are the arm locks?
Transport wrist lock (goosehead)
- Get in escort grip
- Pull in arm to chest and get in goosehead
Entangled arm lock (twisty one where your palms face up)
Inverted straight arm
- Escort grip
- Their hand on your waist
- Swoop motion hand on shoulder
- Can twist round and put shin on their shoulder
What are the fist strikes?
- Open palm strike
- Piston punch
- Elbow strike
- Hammer fist
What are the kicks?
- Knee to thigh (from escort grip)
- Distraction kick (to shin)/ stamp kick and drag
- On ground shuffle and kick forward or swing kick then get up.
What are the headlock escapes?
- Twist head towards their body, peel head out
- Extra step is push their throat back
What are the wrist escapes?
- Swirl it round
What are the takedowns?
- Straight arm takedown (forward)
- Straight arm takedown (rotation)
- Entangled arm takedown (to knees then chest, right arm on shoulder palm up)
What are the ground fighting techniques?
Get up (arm in front of face, leg out)
Shin kick from ground
Cross body kick from ground
Scoop the legs
Cuffing techniques
Front (orb one)
Behind
- Tell them to face the wall
- Hands on lower part of your back, knuckles together
- Go to the side of them (cuff nearest hand first, then furthest)
- Check tightness
- Double lock
- Walk them about with escort grip
- Undo lock
While they’re on the ground
- Be on their shoulder
- Tell them put hands behind back
- Cuff first hand, then next
