The starch test
A
Add potassium iodide to whatever you test, the liquid will go blue, black colour if starch is present, yellow with none

The sugar test
A
Benedictus solution is blue, when you heat it (90) with a sugar it will go either yellow orange or brick red (lots of sugar).

The fat test
A
Add ethanol and a drop of water in test tube. Shake. If solution goes milky white fat is present

A
Biuret will turn purple if protein is present
